Kitty Snow grew up on her mother’s family home place in Bon Air, Virginia. She graduated from Huguenot High School and attended Longwood College and Virginia Commonwealth University.

During her career at C & P Telephone Company, she was the first female telephone installer/repairman assigned to Church Hill, Oregon Hill, Fulton Bottom, Jackson Ward and other downtown neighborhoods. This unusual job placement put her on the streets (and up the telephone poles) of Richmond’s oldest areas where she reconnected with the history of the city she loves.

Her family of real estate professionals, including appraisers, surveyors, and real estate agents, made the transition to Realtor a natural move. The family firm of Rountrey & Associates, now Integra Rountrey, provided her first paying job: assembling the feasibility study for the Richmond Coliseum back in the late 1960s.

Since 1986, she has been a Realtor and is broker and owner of Home Team, Realtors. While the majority of her business involves residential and land sales, she also handles commercial properties and manages rental properties.
At one time she was property manager for over 50 houses but now restricts her rental business to a few select properties.  She has completed transactions in all of the Metropolitan areas, from Amelia to Louisa, downtown Richmond to Chester, Henrico to Chesterfield.

Listing houses is critical to a real estate firm but Kitty prefers to maintain a smaller listing inventory that allows her to concentrate on her clients in a way that the “big box” listing agents cannot. With a manageable number of listings, Kitty can devote the time and energy her clients deserve and assure them of a quick and pleasant selling experience.

As buyer’s agent, Kitty develops a rapport and understanding of her purchasers’ needs that goes beyond most agents. If she isn’t comfortable that a property suits her client, she is honest in stating her reservations. On the other hand, if a client has unrealistic expectations or is in jeopardy of losing the house they will regret, she’ll make that clear. “This is your mother speaking” is a phrase a few first time buyers are familiar with.  Kitty takes her role as advocate, educator, and agent very seriously.

Balancing business with family and community is Kitty’s priority. Her extensive family is precious to her but so is her home town. She created Richmond In Sight (RIS) to preserve and restore her great-grandfather’s collection of nearly 4,000 photos, negatives and movies of Richmond during the early 1900s and gives presentations throughout the Richmond area to educate and share his images.  Her three books based on his images and oral histories of Richmonders from various historic neighborhoods are another way she gives back to the River City and its people.
